Background & project objective
Main goal of the project is to benchmark sustainability portfolio assessment attributes against state-of-the-art (SOTA) guidelines and approaches that are widely used and accepted and evaluate the underlying assessment methodology.
Focus is on defining criteria for evaluating sustainability assessment attributes, evaluating sustainability assessment attributes in terms of their measurability, complementarity, and relevance, providing an overview of state-of-the-art sustainability assessment attributes and benchmarking relevant attributes against these, evaluating sustainability assessment methodology and consistency and comprehensiveness check against standardization criteria, and critically examining as to whether proposed portfolio performance scores are reliable, interpretable, and meaningful.
Project output
Main project output focuses on the three main aspects that are listed in below table.
| Aspect | Output description |
|---|---|
| Scope & criteria definition | Define scope of assessment for field-level direct impacts on environmental performance at end-use application of products, and define set of attributes evaluation criteria for consistent attributes evaluation and comparison. |
| Attribute evaluation and performance benchmarking | Selection of attribute-portfolio product combinations for initial workflow analysis, building an inventory of existing attributes and acceptance level, and performance assessment frameworks and related standards, and evaluating performance assessment attributes against criteria, other identified attributes and standards. |
| Analysis for attributes refinement | Identify options for refining original set of attributes with respect to defined criteria, other identified attributes and standards for selection of small set of attribute-portfolio product combinations, and provide set of clear recommendations on attribute robustness, approach validity, and possible refinements. |
